On November 1st, Tricia Pridemore, Executive Director of The Governor’s Office of Workforce Development, attended Featherbone’s 1st Annual Master Craftsmen Awards at Lanier Technical College in Gainesville. The Awards Ceremony and Forum acknowledged 10 incredible men who are masters of their respective skilled trade.
These tradesmen were recognized for superior work in plumbing, masonry, carpentry, sitework, concrete, residential building, electricity, HVAC, iron and metal work and ceramic tile craftsmanship. A forum was led by Senator Butch Miller where the honorees were able to speak about their passion for their trade and why students should consider a career in these fields.
Master Craftsmen… Builders of America is part of the Featherbone Communiversity Master Series Program in partnership with Lanier Technical College. The Master Craftsmen program was designed to work together with Go Build Georgia and the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia’s “Careers in Construction” program with the purpose of showcasing the industry and promoting it to the community and students while acknowledging those with outstanding skills in their trade.
